McKirdy & Riskin’s Jack Buonocore was recently interviewed regarding the efforts of Long Beach Township to obtain access easements on private property. As mentioned, the lawsuit alleges that the township targeted the plaintiffs’ property because they refused to sign separate easement documents permitting the government to take part of their property and use it for the construction of a new sand dune. McKirdy & Riskin’s Anthony DellaPelle was interviewed and quoted in an article in the March, 2014 edition of the American Bar Association Journal. The article, which focuses on the possible use of eminent domain to seize underwater mortgages in various places around the country, includes comments from DellaPelle regarding the possible problems that these efforts may face in litigating the matters in the proper venues, because these potential takings do not involve takings of real estate, but rather mortgage loans. This year’s conference will be held at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans from January 23 to 25, 2014. Tony will be speaking on “Condemnation Issues in the Aftermath of Natural Disasters”, and will also present on “Damages and Benefits in Partial Takings Cases” in the Condemnation 101 session of this annual conference. McKirdy & Riskin’s Tony DellaPelle was interviewed in a recent article in the Atlantic City Press regarding the City of Margate’s efforts to halt the dune replenishment project along its shoreline.
